Compassionate support from fully licensed therapists, in person at our Northeast Philadelphia office or through telehealth sessions.

Reaching out is often the hardest part—we make the next step simple. Whether you are coping with depression, grief, trauma, anxiety or a major change in your life, you do not have to figure it out alone.

A New Outpatient Mental Health Service from Prestige Home Care Agency

PAX Mental Health is the outpatient therapy service of Prestige Home Care Agency. For decades, Prestige has helped people across the Philadelphia region live with independence, dignity and compassion. PAX brings that same commitment to mental health care.

PAX operates as part of Prestige, under its own name, so you can easily find therapy services in one dedicated place. Our therapists are fully licensed and bring years of clinical experience to every session.

We know that asking for help can feel uncomfortable or even overwhelming. Our goal is to make that first conversation easy, respectful and free of pressure.

Therapy for a Wide Range of Mental Health Concerns

Our licensed therapists in Philadelphia support teens, adults, older adults, and families through  a wide range of emotional and mental health challenges, including, but not limited to:

Depression can make everyday tasks feel heavy and drain the joy from things you used to love. Therapy offers a supportive space to talk openly about how you are feeling and work toward the next step with a licensed professional by your side.

Loss can take many forms: the death of a loved one, the end of a relationship, or a change in health or independence. Grief counseling gives you room to process what you are carrying at your own pace, without judgment.

Difficult or frightening experiences can continue to affect your sleep, relationships and sense of safety long after they end. Our trauma therapists provide a calm, respectful setting where you decide what to share and when.

How Do I Know It Might Be Time to Reach Out for Help?

There is no single “right time” to start therapy, and you do not need to be in crisis to reach out. It may be time to talk with a licensed therapist if you notice that:

  • Feelings of sadness, worry, irritability or emptiness have lasted for weeks and are not easing up
  • You are having trouble sleeping, or you are sleeping much more than usual
  • Work, school, relationships or everyday tasks are getting harder to manage
  • You have lost interest in things you used to enjoy
  • You are pulling away from friends, family or activities you care about
  • You are relying more on alcohol, substances or other habits to cope
  • A loss, a difficult experience or a big life change keeps weighing on your mind
  • People close to you have said they are worried about you

Getting Started: What to Expect

Starting therapy is a big step, and it’s natural to wonder what happens next. Here is what your first steps with PAX Mental Health look like.

  1. Reach out

Complete our appointment request form, call 215-677-3299, or email pax@prestigehca.com.

  2. Talk with our team

We will follow up within 24 business hours to answer your questions, confirm your insurance or payment options, and help you choose an
in-person or telehealth appointment. During this call, we will complete a pre-intake form with you, which will be forwarded to your assigned therapist.

  3. Meet your therapist

Your first session is a chance to get to know your therapist, share what brings you in, and ask questions. You decide what you feel ready to share. Sessions last 60 minutes.

  4. Plan your next steps

Together with your therapist, you will decide how often to meet. Initially, sessions are scheduled on a weekly basis at a 60-minute interval, and you can discuss a different frequency as your needs change.

What to have ready: Photo ID card, insurance card, and intake forms, which can be completed with the help of your therapist. If you prefer the virtual option, you will need a device, whether a computer or smartphone that has access to Google Meets, a steady internet connection, and a private space with minimal distractions.
